Ted, I thoroughly enjoyed this article/ essay. I actually got hungry, then asked myself "what's in my refrigerator "? Maybe this piece is the one "good" thing to come out of your medical _______. (Not sure how to name it. )

Anywho...good "food for thought" here, or as you like to say, "well at least, a snack." Cheers, MsD

Thank you, Ted! Your text is a treat: delicious and nutritious food for thought. It goes well with my handpicked nettle smoothies and my renewed appetite for stories.

I like this a lot.

A good way to use hospital time!

Of course the other thing linking us to this earth is the oxygen that fuels the energy in each and every cell -- that waste product emitted by plants -- trees, grasses, algae.

Well. After life adapted to oxygen, it really wasn't "waste" anymore - plants have both light reactions and dark reactions - with photosynthesis and with regular oxidative phosphorylation. But I think of oxygen less of a consumable and more of a blanket.

we consume it -- it fuels us, just as food does.
